Shakey Audio Book Project
Here's some scoop on an exciting Neil Young fan project -- The Shakey Audio Book.
In a review for the upcoming issue of Broken Arrow (#101), published by the Neil Young Appreciation Society, Mike "Expecting To Fly" Cordova describes the Shakey Audio Book project:
"Ron Starrett enjoys audio books for his daily commute and he is a long-time Rustie and a member of the NYAS so of course he is passionate about Neil Young. The total lack of audio books about Neil Young combined with Ron’s using the Jimmy McDonough Neil Young biography Shakey as practice for his on-air radio readings helped spark his idea to actually produce an audio book himself. He enlisted the help of other fans from the Rust list to read all of the chapters and the Shakey Audio Book project was born. I am happy to report that the final project is a tremendous success: Audiobook Shakey is a terrific audio-read. It turns out to be such a dynamic experience to listen to the audio book even after having read the original, that I like to refer to this project as “Shakey Comes Alive!”

Spearheaded by Ron "Welcome to Miami Beach. Everything is cheaper than it looks..." Starrett, approximately 20 Rusties have been involved in the project over the 13+ months.
The world premiere is planned for the wonderful Rust Radio, which is hosted by web-jay Roel "Obviously Doing Well".
