Sadly though these are the cheap seats (86 bucks). Couldn't go for the good ones at 176. Youch! Even for Neil I have my limits. But CSNY 2K was phenomenal, so I have every hope this will be worth my money. But really, will the next phase of tix be 200 for the mediocre ones? Someone has to get a handle on these prices. No one seems willing to accept responsibility.

Check it out for yourself. You can get GREAT seats weeks after the announcment? Maybe REO Speedwagon and STYX are touring too! Or JEFFERSON STARSHIP!

They are old, insignificant, and worthless. They are trying to make a buck. It is amazing such "Freedom Fighters" would label the tour as some kind of protest and charge that much for concert tickets.

Neil is a sell out! This tour will be a disaster!

They are one of the few living legends we have left. Bring your kids and let them see what music really sounds like when it's done right. They are still better than any crappy contemporary mediocre talents of today's younger generation and can still generate more energy on stage than any of these young punks we have out there today!

Saw CSN&Y &Y in October at the BSB in Mtn. View, Ca. all acoustic... and it was awesome. My 17 year old daughter loved it and unfortunately some of their more "period" music is timely today. If we weren't once again being somewhere we not ought to be, then maybe Anonymous would have an argument that they are just cashing in. But then again, if that's what you do to put food on the table for your family then, what's wrong with that? When Anonymous gets old enough to actually get a work permit, and assuming he doesn't become a drag on our society as he is on this website, then I don't suppose that anyone will fault him for still working at McDonald's when he's sixty.

I was totally moved and am not ashamed to say that I shed a tear here and there. I know what he means when he said that a song really moved him and played it over and over agian on the jukebox. The first time I heard "Heart of Gold" was at the Cheticamp Beach house in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. I listened to that song continously and was a hooked fan from the very first quarter. I will be seeing Neil Young in Winnipeg with my 15 year old daughter. The 8 hour drive from Thunder Bay Ontario will not stop me from seeing my favourite performer of all times. This concert is going to make my summer.

The crowd was a true cross section, I'm 44 and brought my kids (9 & 12).

Neil Young brought so much energy to the show, he fueled the performance. His guitar work was particularly notable last night.

It's true that Crosby and Nash have lost some of the sweetness in their voices, but they they still pull off their classics reasonably well. Neil and Stills vocals were very strong (after Stills warmed up).

Surprisingly, there was not as much political commentary as I expected. They let most of their message carry through the selection of their songs. There was a moving video and tribute to our soldiers in Iraq, and Neil's lyrics to "Let's Impeach The President" were projected (just in case you did not know the words.)

There were two encores. It was really a great show and they put out 110%.

They all showed great energy and passion. Their vocals were a little shaky at first, but after a margarita, they sounded much better!

I counted 14 songs in the first set, and lost count at 20 in the second. But I remember only one encore, "Teach Your Children." Bill, what was the second one?

The songs from Living With War were as good as the CSNY classics. "The Restless Consumer" got my vote for best performance of any of the new songs. There were a few stretches of newer songs or solo efforts that were not as well appreciated, but the crowd never got restless or impatient.

The highlight of the show for me came toward the end of the second set, when they did "Chicago" followed by "Ohio."

As someone who worked his way through grad school as a proofreader, I must point out that when they flashed the words to "Let's Impeach the President" on the video screens they forgot to do a grammar check, using "there" instead of "their." Twice. (ouch)

Just before the show started, the average age on the lawn was about 60. By the end of the night, it had dropped to about 40.

As a 48 year old who has struggled to appreciate new music for the past 20 years or so, the concert reminded me why the 60s and 70s were my favorite decades for music.

They played close to three hours. A great show.

At least Neil Young sounds as good as ever. If they could play "Teach your Children" so well, why couldn't they do the others in the same manner. Why change a good thing? I saw them a few short years ago and it was one of the best concerts I ever saw. This time...I couldn't wait for it to be over.

sure, ive heard that listening to stills try to sing the high notes on "helplessly hoping" was almost "painful", but hey, these guys arent kids anymore. theyre banging out 3 plus hours, and i think they deserve credit in a genre of music where modern bands play an hour and a half and act like it was a long show. these guys are still "rockin in the free world", theyre playing new and RELEVANT IMPORTANT music, theyre standing up to the system in a time when we NEED people not afraid to criticize, and theyre playing well upwards of TWENTY classic hits also.

yeah, i suppose i'd like to hear more classics also that i dont see on setlists from this tour ("suite", "wasted on the way", "helpless", "old man", "just a song before i go", "carry on", and others), but im ALSO happy to hear them (led obviously at this point by neil) playing new music, especially when that new music has a very important message. ive looked at all the setlists so far, and im completely pumped to see the show as are my dad and son. the setlists have been mostly similar (which is fine by me), so here's to hoping the thursday show has a TWO encore ending with "love the one youre with" AND "woodstock"

Albeit, a little weird with the wind problems and the weird convention crowd that bought up all the front section seats. Didn't matter, though, the magic was there. Also, this CSNY tour had already been planned. Crosby, Stills and Nash weren't "dragged along". They wanted to support this cause! It's a wonderful musical compromise among the four of them on stage PLUS they are getting message out! Icons, heroes and genius!
Neil, Willie's, etc.. Farm Aid concert is now scheduled, as well, for Sept. 30th. Check it out!

They interacted well with the audience and bantered around amoungst themselves. Crosby at several points took a lead role, talking to the audience and cajoling them. It must have been a special night because their voices didn't sound tired and there harmonies were spot on about 95% of the time. Nash made a mistake during a cover version of Our House and the Neil jumped in and stopped the song, joking with Nash that even though they are old farts, it still has to be perfect everytime. This prompted Crosby to have fun with the audience mocking "Mr Perfect" as he called him all in good fun. Crosby was joking that most of the band screw ups were normally due to him so it was nice to see a someone else make a goof-up.

Neils guitar work was awsome. Closely followed by several excellent solos by Stills. The band played very well together. The set musicians- drummer, bassist, slide guitarist and trumpet player were excellent. Someone said (unconfirmed) that the drummer was Carlos Santana's drummer.

In my opinion, this concert was a special moment and will go as far as to say it will be one of their top performances of the tour. I wish that they would release this entire concert as a live video and CD release, it was that inspiring.

All in all, worth ever cent of the $92 ticket. It was a long night (about 3 1/2 hrs) in which they played a wonderful variety of music. I feel it was an excellent value to see these legends. While CSN themselves is a great show the addition of Neil Young is what produces the magic. ROCK ON NEIL!! Thanks for the great night.

Since I am a fan I might not be neutral, but this was one of the greatest shows I ever attended. Unfortunately, they won't tour Europe. The content would fit perfectly there, too.

It is striking that these people who walked out expected CSNY to deliver a feel good nostalgia show in the midst of a humanitarian disaster fueled in part by the policies of our own failed leadership. I think it is indicitive of the denile and disconnect from this war that many americans live under. I am glad those came to the show.. I wish they could have stayed.. I hope they can come back. Some how I think the show was aimed at them.

Watched these old guys (my age) on the Jumbotrons playing their hearts out on a 10-minute "Rocking In The Free World", and by the end, Stills looked like he couldn't even move his pick out of pure exhaustion, but it was a fantastic show, and they came back out for a "Woodstock" encore.

$40 T-shirts? No thanks....I've got way more than $40 in sweet memories!

My wife's 15 years younger than me, and Crosby gave her "Carry On" goosebumps. One of the best shows I've been to in a long while!

It was a great show and I was glad to hear all of the songs from their 1st and 2nd album (am I showing my age??) I was impressed with Crosby's ability to pound it out and abit sad that Stills' voice has faded badly. As the previous post-er noted, it was in Washington DC so the reaction was not all cheers. Since I was in the back, I could see people leaving during the set when the video of coffins, US death numbers, and carnage were rolling across the screen. Some were booing or cursing as they left.

But regardless of political views, it was a great singing concert!! And Neil Young is definitely a maniac at 57(?)!!

Out of 25 + songs (3 hour show) only 3 or 4 songs held true to the original rock anthems of the past. The main highlight of the show was when Neil Young and Steven Stills played their best tunes and were not disturbed by Crosby and Nash.
Neil Young is still the best and can rock like he did many years ago and didn't miss a beat. Steven Stills voice was not as good as years ago but he makes up for it in his kick ass guitar jams.
I heard main floor tickets were close to $200 and first level seats were $90. I would have really been mad if I paid that much and still feel I got screwed at at $65 ticket cost plus the Ticketmaster $12 rape charge and $15 parking. I would probably enjoyed it more if I had another $20 for some serious drinks.

Also Nash's Chicago song, sung in Chicago, was fantastic, and Young's Ohio rocked, and brought back sad and powerful memories. (FYI, Crosby still has a beautiful voice after all these years, and Nash, thankfully, has learned not to go after those high notes he used to be able to hit. Stills' voice has been shot for years, but he makes it work through his force of will. Young really makes this band come together.) Since most CSNY fans are anti-war, it was preaching to the choir. For the pro-war people who left, good riddance. For the pro-war people who stayed and kept an open mind-- or were even swayed to join the anti-war movement-- well, they're probably CSNY's target audience.

I thought the actors placing the giant microphone with a yellow ribbon was SO CHEESY! All it made me think about was how childish they must think we are, not about the war. I will tell you that as much as I love CSN….their concerts don’t compare to what Neil adds to them. AND the fact that they chose to tour after Neil’s ‘Living with War’ album, it is only fitting this peace loving group stand on this platform like they did so many years ago. This concert was AWESOME!!! I’m still reeling from it
Lastly…..yes and they do call it an anti-war movement by bashing our government and I’m thankful we have the freedom so they can put on this concert. But just because you have these freedoms does not mean you have to play along all the time and be good little girls and boys.
There are only a few concert days left. If you want to see a great one…go and check it out for yourself. You will not be sorry.

My opinion was it was the show I saw was a sub-par effort. They were off-key, had lousy stage hands who kept screwing around with the backdrop, and were so out of it they had to restart one song three times.

This isn't what I paid to see. I don't mind hearing a song about anti-war, but make it a good one at least. The anti-war stuff was horrible.

And finally, everyone is entitled to an opinion. All of us 'get it'. Whether you're for the war or against it, it was still a lousy concert effort in my opinion. If their intent was to try to educate people and possibly change their minds, I think they failed. Regardless of what my political views are, and I am keeping them to myself, the last place I would go to is a concert, and the last people I would go to for information would be a group of spoiled performers that has regularly been substance abusers......to the point that one of them needed a life-saving organ transplant.

I'm sorry, but I see no logical reason why they should magically 'get it', as oppsoed to those of us who read and study.

That or course is my opinion.

To those who feel they are the only one's who 'get it' because they loved the show, that is your opinion.

As I said, the show I saw was sub-par. I will not pay to see them again.

Audience participation was required by CSN&Y And participate we did!! The antiwar was a long time coming as in the 60's & 70's, again we are in a Useless War!
I will remember this concert as long as I live--it was spectacular!
