So is the New Song "Sea Change" or "See Change"?

So is the new song's title "Sea Change" or "See Change"? There has been some debate on rust about which fits better.

Here are the lyrics transcribed by Mike "Expecting To Fly" using "See". (Listen here.)

See Change
See change
It's a transformation of civilization
See change
From nation to nation, an age of innovation
See change
You can feel it in the air everywhere you go
See change
Come on, come on we gotta [indecipherable]

It takes love, it takes money,
We're all in it 'cause we wanna see light of day
It takes God, it ain't funny
The next generation's gonna have to pay

See change
Come on, come on, who's gonna turn this thing around?
See change
It's not too late to make a difference right here on the ground
See change
I think you're ready now to ride a sea change
See change

Come on, come on
It takes love, it takes money,
We're all in it 'cause we wanna see light of day
It takes God, it ain't funny
The next generation's gonna have to pay

See change
It's a transformation of civilization
See change
We gotta ride the wave from nation to nation
See change
Come on, come on you gotta ride the wave
See change
Come on, come on, come on
See change

Personally, we think that "sea change" is a better fit in that it reflects change on a significant scale rather than merely witnessing change. And we think this may refer to the Obama campaign.

Regardless, a change is a comin'! (That is before the flood and after the goldrush.)

So which spelling do you think best fits the lyrics?

Thanks e2f!

Or maybe this is the sequel to the joint Pearl Jam-Neil Young collaboration "I'm The Ocean" (lyrics analysis)?

With global warming and all, it's definitely sea change.

It's obviously a double entendre. See change (envision a different way) ie...invent an electric car that gives energy back to the power grid. Ride the wave (sea).

Don't know which fits better, but there's a guy on the Rust List claiming he was personally told by Neil that it's "See Change."

I'm the guy who transcribed the lyrics above. I want to say that I hope for and actually voted for "Sea Change" as the title even though I wrote "see change" in the lyrics. I based my choice when transcribing on that post made to the Rust List. The post itself was a bit nebulous as to what was understood in the conversation with Neil in question. Sea Change would be a much better title and lyric, IMHO.

I'm pretty sure the painting onstage during the song in Oslo said "SEA CHANGE".

Well, come to think of it, could it be that Neil is shouting to the band 'C change'? Finally! After playing a zillion years in D, they at last get a break! Maybe his old buddy Stills put him up to it, for a bit of adventure...

Hmm..in norwegian, but it says that the release date is nov 3. No other details than what heard before, it will be both dvd and blueray. It seems to be a leak from Warner Music Norway.

Thank you very much! Here's the translation.

3. november is the date that fans of Neil Young've been waiting for. When done "Archives Volume One 1963-1972", the first major part of the musical archives of the legend, is available. According to Warner Music Canada come in the form of a collection on a total of ten discs with sound and images from the Youngs career between 1963 and 1972.

The collection is available in both blu-ray and DVD format. The rumours about the release of "Archives Volume One 1963-1972" has versert for several years, but now will be the release finally confirmed.

Etterlengtet
At Warner Music Canada, one has currently little information about the box.

-- What I can say is that this is the first time someone has tried in any res, "says the head of promotion of Warner Music Canada, Tonje Kaada.

Musical database
The massive package of Neil Young-material can best be described as a musical database. According to CNN Young has previously not been satisfied with the quality of the existing technology. Young also announced that the archives, among other things, will include uutgitte songs, videos and handwritten manuscripts.

-- Former technology has demanded unacceptable kvalitetskompromisser. I am glad we waited and did it properly, commented Young when he launched the news earlier this year.

According to the British newspaper The Guardian, the ten blu-ray disks have a capacity of 500 gigabytes. Young had previously only provided fans young drip from the archives, including the two konsertplatene "Live at the Filmore East" and "Live at Massey Hall," but now it is in other words, duket for the really big Young-tax. In the meantime, fans can shorten the wait to see Young and his Electric Band on stage at Bergenhus Fortress, Koengen on Tuesday, 26. august. B.S.M.

Warner Music Canada is wrong, it is Warner Music Norway, so it is a european realease date. A peculiar translating error.

Neil Young’s much-delayed "Archives" project looks likely to finally get released on November 3.

"Archives Volume One 1963-1972" will be released as a 10-disc Blu-Ray and DVD collection and is expected to feature previously released live sets including "Live At Massey Hall", from 1971, and "Live At The Fillmore East", from 1970, as well as never released studio tracks, demos and artwork.

Meanwhile, Young is also apparently due to release "Sugar Mountain" on September 29. Exact details of what this album will contain are unconfirmed, but it’s widely presumed to be another set of vintage live material.

A bootleg album, "Live On Sugar Mountain", recorded at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles on the last night of Neil Young's early-1971 solo tour, has long been in circulation, and it’s likely the material for this official release may well be drawn from that show.
BECAUSE SOUND MATTERS
