Neil Young News
In 2004, Rustie Mike "Expecting 2 Fly" Cordova posted a series of articles on his experience listening to all of Neil Young's albums in chronological order. Here is one in the series. For a complete listing, see Albums in Order reviews.
Date: Sun, 28 Nov 2004 14:51:36 -0800 (PST) I think Neil Young is the third Neil Young album I bought, after
After The Goldrush and Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere. I was really struck then, as now, at how
different it sounded from the others. How odd for a
singer-songwriter to start his very first solo album with
a bouncy (and very nice) instrumental. But that's Neil for
you. I like this album quite a lot.
High points for me
have always been The Loner and Here We Are In The Years. I
love the out-of-placeness of and the unusual lyrical
pictures painted by Last Trip To Tulsa. I also love the
segue from String Quartet to Here We Are In The Years. I
very much enjoyed listening to Neil Young today.
